The Asia Pacific region continues to see a rapid evolution of the financial services sector, with significant growth in key market sectors. While Singapore, Hong Kong, and Tokyo continue to play important roles as key financial centers, China's emerging domestic consumer, commercial, and investment marketplaces have become the key strategic battleground for international institutions. The region continues to watches as Taiwan's ongoing financial restructuring is still not consolidated, despite a wave of private equity investment in significant financial holdings over the past decade. In Korea, rising household debts continues to be a concern, but the Government's top priority is to develop the FinTech industry to support internet banking and e-commerce, as well as improving regulations to encourage venture capital and private equity.
In India, the financial services sector continues to grow in size and importance, despite various challenges, there is a sustained push for reforms from the Government and the Reserve Bank of India. Whilst the financial services space is still dominated by government banks, private banks and several international institutions, the unbanked millions has led to innovative solutions and creation of small finance banks and a digital rural play,
