Hsiao Yuan Li is Chairman/Group Managing Director and Co-Founder of the SES Group, based in Singapore.

A veteran in the executive search industry, Mr Li has conducted substantial assignments for high technology, industrial, life sciences and financial services companies, seeking local and expatriate executives. These search assignments have covered a variety of functional and general management positions throughout South East Asia and Greater China. Mr Li also leads the firm's Industrial and Life Sciences Practice Groups, as well as represents the SES Group on the Alliance Operating Committee with our US and European partners.

Mr Li began his career in executive search in 1980 with Korn/Ferry International, progressing to Vice President/Director for Singapore and Malaysia. He left in 1986 to establish SES Associates (SEA) Pte Ltd, which covered the South East Asia region. The Company was later affiliated with Ward Howell International in 1994, and Mr Li served as a Member of the International Council of Ward Howell between 1995 and 1997. With the listing of Ward Howell International in the US in 1998, SES, the Strategic Executive Search Group was established, following the merger of previous Ward Howell partner companies in Asia.

Mr Li's earlier career was in human resources management as Industrial Relations & Recruitment Manager with Mobil Oil, Singapore; Director of Personnel with Ford Motor Company in Singapore and Malaysia; and various personnel management positions in the shipbuilding and repair industry.

Born in China, Mr Li spent part of his childhood years in Taiwan, before his family settled in Singapore. He graduated from the University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts degree (Honours) and Master of Social Sciences.
