Julian Buckeridge is Managing Director, Greater China, and co-leads the regional consumer practice for the SES Group and supports the financial services and private equity practice.

Over the last 10 years at SES, Julian has successfully completed over 200 senior level search assignments across the Asia Pacific region, covering all key functions for a range of multinational and Asian consumer driven businesses. He focuses on Greater China, and utilizes his Mandarin language capability as well as general management experience with multinational corporations and a proven track record in company establishment, organizational development and successful hiring of staff, to assist his clients with the critical strategic recruitment of key executives.

Prior to joining SES, for the first 12 years of his commercial career, Julian worked in the consumer products and media industries, initially for Harrison & Crossfields, and then with Diageo (previously International Distillers & Vintners), in progressively senior marketing roles within Asia. As Executive VP, Korea, he was instrumental in establishing the sales and marketing joint venture of International Distillers Korea, from which he was later promoted to be General Manager of International Distillers Taiwan. In 1998, Clear Channel Communications (CCU) recruited Julian for the position of Managing Director, Taiwan. He led an aggressive expansion through acquisition, and in two years’ time, CCU was ranked the second largest outdoor media company in Taiwan.

Born in the UK, Julian graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and was commissioned into the 6th Gurkha Rifles. He studied Nepali, and served primarily in Hong Kong, Nepal, South Korea and Brunei, carrying out many other deployments worldwide, completing his Short Service Commission in 1988 as a Captain at the School of Infantry.
